Chief Larry S. Fisher

Your Fire Chief since june 2018

I have spent the entirety of my firefighting career in service to Merrimac, and I have a deep commitment to the safety of the residents of this town. Being in the community and offering the community updated or current solutions to each process that is engaged by our residents. Being Chief of a group of dedicated Firefighters and EMT’s that bring the very best of fire and emergency medical services to residents, is an honor.

I have deep knowledge of the Merrimac Fire Department and the community having served for over four decades. I continue to serve the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Board of Fire Prevention Member and as an Investigator of fires for the purpose of determining the origin and causes fires. Practicing these skills at the state level allows me to stay current and have working knowledge of resources available to solve challenges that our community may face. I oversee emergency management situations, have done countless inspections and spent many fulfilling hours teaching public safety courses to community members. Now as Chief, it is an honor to lead the department.

Our members are individuals with integrity who bring team work and flexibility into emergency incidents, and who are always working to be more prepared. I am very proud to work with such a dedicated group at our fire department.
